Hi all! My name is Hollie Schleicher and I just graduated as a 2x Captain of the Boston College Women's Lacrosse team. I am from Sag Harbor, NY and grew up on Long Island.
During my time as a student athlete at BC, I had the unique opportunity to be part of a Top 5 ranked Division 1 program while also pursuing a rigorous academic curriculum. This balance of athletic and academic responsibility has played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today, and I am very grateful for the invaluable experiences.
My goal now with CGM is to guide and support the next generation of aspiring collegiate athletes, particularly young lacrosse players. Through my virtual mentorships, I aim to provide tools, resources, and personal insights that will help these athletes pave their way to success.
My focus areas include:
- Sharing insight into the recruiting process based on my own experiences and knowledge of the current landscape.
- Assisting athletes in setting personalized athletic, academic, and individualized goals that align with their aspirations and standards.
- Nurturing an understanding of the balance between academic and athletic commitments while empowering athletes to find their own.
- Discussing the importance of chasing your dreams, while also taking realistic steps to achieve them.
- Emphasizing the significance of mental health and what it means to be "mentally tough" in today's world, drawing from my own journey.
- Discussing how to build and maintain confidence through the process, as well as handle adversity.
- Creating an open relationship with the athlete that values honesty and transparency, so they can access the unique perspectives that a current collegiate athlete has to offer (something I searched for during the process).
My journey as a Division 1 lacrosse player, starting from high school and continuing through college, has truly been a blessing as it provided me with so many diverse experiences. I believe that these experiences have equipped me to offer valuable lessons to those seeking guidance - whether it's navigating the recruiting process, finding a balancing between athletics and academics, or maintaining an equilibrium in such a fast paced environment.
Overall, I am more than willing to answer any questions or share any insights that you may have! I’m pretty much an open book, and look forward to supporting and empowering anyone who chooses to be part of my mentorship program. If you're interested, please sign up below!
