Hello, my name is Riley Roche! I am a senior at Colby College in Waterville Maine, and a former 3-year Colby Womens Hockey team member. I am originally from Chelmsford, Ma where I grew up and fell in love with ice hockey. At the age of 14, my aspirations to play collegiate hockey were starting to get serious. I made a move to study and play at the Williston Northampton School, a small New England boarding school in Western Massachusetts.
During my four years at Williston, I suffered a serious hip injury which I feared would ruin my chances of ever playing at the college level. However, with the great support of my family and coaches, I was able to be recruited to a plethora of division three programs across the country. As someone who values education as much as athletics, I chose to attend Colby College which provided me with the environment and community that supported those values.
Division 3 hockey was not my goal when I was 14, however, I don't believe I would have had the opportunity to balance hockey, academics, social life, and community involvement as much as I do now had I ended up somewhere else. I have learned that the college recruitment journey is not a straightforward path, there will be unexpected obstacles that will arise. I want to be there to support you on your crazy journey, whatever it may look like because I always hoped that I had a mentor to rely on during my challenging recruitment process as well!
Please submit your information below to be placed on Riley's priority list for mentorship. There are 3 slots available and the first session will be starting soon.
